CAP’N BILLY
AND HIS LOVELY & VIVACIOUS BRIDE!
Welcome
to Cap’n Billy’s Aerodrome! Your host is pictured above along
with his LVB (You may read his bio if you’ll click here). His LVB is the brains (as well as the beauty) in the
family – an accomplished musician with a master's degree (voice and piano),
former high school and private music teacher, and currently Music Director of
our church.
Cap’n
Billy is a retired Trans World Airlines (RIP) Captain. During his military
service and airline employment he was based in many various locations around
the world. A native of South Carolina, he returned to his home state after hanging
up his helmet and goggles.
We
both enjoy classical music and opera, being members of several local music
and arts organizations here in the midlands of South Carolina where we
reside. This site consists of much more than aviation material, including but
not limited to: poetry, Sherlock Holmes, arts & entertainment, etc.
Please browse the site at your leisure. Hope you enjoy it!

HOME IS WHERE THE “ART” IS!
|
The
home of the subject of this feature, that is. The creator of the objets
d'art depicted here, Dr. Edwin E.
Gordon, is not a trained artist, but
one of the foremost musical pedagogues in the world today. An author,
teacher and lecturer, he has written more than 20 books on music theory
and numerous research papers, monographs, etc. In recent years he has
been exploring music development with infants from one month to eighteen
months old and refining those skills in children from eighteen months to
age three. Interestingly, before he entered academia, he was a string
bass player with the Gene Krupa Orchestra. You may learn about his
musical career here. However, this feature is devoted to another interest
of his. While writing his books he likes to take breaks occasionally to
create absolutely stunning art works. He is completely self-taught in
this area, and this art genre he has created doesn’t have a name (He
solicits suggestions!). However, we believe you will agree that they are
incredibly striking, and that you will be captivated by them. Take a look
and see if we’re right!
