A Columbia (SC) Aviator and
His Stinson Detroiter Remembered

Prelude:
On August 25th, 1927 at 12:46 pm, Paul Rinaldo
Redfern of Columbia, SC took off
from Brunswick, GA for a non-stop flight to Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil. He never arrived.
A
meeting of The Paul Rinaldo Redfern Aviation Society was
conducted at The Capital City Club in Columbia, SC on August 25th, 2011. At
12:46 pm the members raised their glasses in a toast to Mr. Redfern.
This
society consists of a small but enthusiastic group of diverse persons, such
as newspaper publishers, doctors, social workers, museum officials and
others, including even a retired airline pilot, who are interested in
propagating this hitherto unknown pioneer aviator’s legacy.
