REALLY

Many times I wonder

Did I really fly

And flirt with towering cumulus

In that wide expanse of sky?

Did I really loop and roll

And twist and turn and spin?

Or is it just another dream,

Another sign of old age setting in?

Was I ever really young

With so many friends I knew?

Were they ever really there

So strong, steadfast and true?

Will I really learn the truth

The day I pass away?

Or drift into oblivion

With no further say.

And does it really matter,

In those vast halls of time,

That once I was really happy

In life's long upward climb?
