INTO THE BLUE

Into the blue, young man; into the blue.
Soar into heights that birds cannot accrue.
Fly the unseen highways:
Man-made for your high ways.

Through the weather and the night,
Never faltering in flight,
Fly you forever true
Through this ocean of blue.

Into the sky, my boy; into the sky.
Get thee next to heaven, my friend; and fly.
Breach those earthly bounds
That tie you to the ground.

Though Autumn leaves are falling,
Ecstasy to you is calling,
And you shall ever rise
To love what meets your eyes.

--John H. Christian,

This poem was authored by a 20-year-old in 1945. John Christian served as an Army Air Force Pilot during WWII, and your host is proud to be his friend. See Aviation Days for a web site describing his training and experiences during that period in our history.

After the war John took up the ministry and missionary work. To see his inspirational web site click Christvine Generation.
